It all began during Sachin’s engagement with leading job portals of US, India & UAE as an employee & growth consultant. He did extensive study & analyzed the resume writing industry globally. Eventually, he made services related recommendations to his employers & clients that could have rejuvenated their declining business, these companies, however, choose to continue their existing practices at their own peril. Job portals globally were going through a bad patch since they didn’t have anything exceptional to demanding customers, however, there was also a huge window of opportunity & potential in this space. Sachin embraced a vision & took up a challenge to build a brand that will offer generation next resume services to exceed job seeker & job provider expectations & challenges.
Observations & Industry Gaps
- 99% of Resume companies had “follow the herd” approach with zero investment in upgrading their services, building exceptional content, customer success-driven output & innovation. In short, all of them were template-based “Resume Machines”.
- Revenue contribution of resume writing to their core business was just 10-15% to their top-line, hence it was not worthy of their attention.
- Resume writing was easy money-making proposition & “No Brainer” for them since it was template driven.
- Job Portals faced fierce competition from the Mom & Pop store that sold resumes at half the price with zero value. This resulted in aggressive customer acquisition practices like job guarantees, freebies, money back offers, fake job commitments & low price services.
- Low-cost model lead to revenue/ profits pressure, because of which experienced writers were replaced with homemakers, freshers & freelancers. It led to customer unrest & loss of trust in these companies.
- To run a profitable business, fabricated services like resume distribution, job assist, etc were introduced. Lack of knowledge, the paucity of expert writers & the traditional template approach demolished people’s faith in this industry at last. Public domains got flooded with millions of customer complaints regarding payment frauds, counterfeit job guarantees, poor resume content, etc but these companies continued with their rampage.

- We as a team spent 4+ years in planning & researching our resume services, its architecture, data segments, features, unique sections, content strategy, unique six (6) steps resume writing methodology, fusion of partner services, innovative widgets library to ensure we deliver services that establish customer loyalty & give them WOW experience. Prototypes of these services were created for conducting market research & surveys.
- 1000+ recruiters & 700+ functional managers in the USA, Canada, India, Australia to understand their recruitment challenges such as:- Hiring Target Vs Achievement, Time Invested Vs Output, Personal growth & performance at work. Also tried to understand what information they seek for quick hiring decisions & what disappoints them in the traditional resume. The outcome of this exercise led to exceptional feature & functionality ideas that were incorporated in the prototypes.
- Post extensive research, we created a unique 6 steps resume development process by using assessments & DISC driven approach as part of our content strategy. Final Prototypes of all resume categories were made by incorporating the feedback & outcome of Interviews/ Research/Surveys of Recruiters & Functional managers/ Customers.
